"I received Beth's Postpartum Doula services as a baby shower gift from my brother and sister-in-law. Never having had a child before and believing myself to be a capable, independent woman, I really didn't understand the role of a postpartum doula. Then my daughter was born and I quickly realized what an amazing gift she was!
I had a fairly uneventful birth and was home after 36 hours. The entire experience of becoming a mother, coping with a new baby, juggling family, friends, and breastfeeding soon proved to be very overwhelming. Beth quickly became one of my main pillars of support.
I still remember the first nap I had while she wore my daughter in a moby wrap and did the dishes, it was my first moment of peace. Beth came to my house for 6 sessions and while her physical support, folding laundry, dishes, making me tea and food, it was her wonderful depth of knowledge about babies, breastfeeding, bathing, etc... that amazed me. She was also a great resource for other resources, both locally and online, many of which I continue to use on a regular basis. I have recommended her services to many of my friends and if I ever have another baby she would be the ONLY item on my baby registry!" ---Rebekah Allocco
"I cannot recommend Beth highly enough! She is patient, kind, and full of knowledge about babies' development, needs and how to make things work for the family. She helped us establish good sleep and feeding habits for our baby, and was very attuned to our specific needs, even as they changed from day to day. I hope we'll be able to have her back for our next child!" --Romilly Hodges
"There was no one thing, but a multitude of small things that meant that hiring Beth was a good decision: the two hours of napping without me hearing a pip from the baby and without being the least bit worried because she was with her, the sandwiches she made for my midnight snacking (well all night snacking), the laundry that magically disappeared from the washer and turned up dry and folded, the answers to my questions and the calm presence in my otherwise all absorbing sleepless baby universe.
To be able to enjoy the baby, because I knew that Beth was there to help with both the mine and the baby's needs. Because she brought a sense of ease that reminded me how babies are fun and not the scariest thing on earth. And because it is ok, even good, to know that you need help and then ask for it." --Pia Eskildsen
"Before deciding to hire a doula I was overwhelmed by the thought of caring for a newborn alone. I was scared and wanted reassurance that everything would be ok. I felt comfortable in Beth’s presence and knew she would help me feel comfortable as a new mother. Beth was there for me when I needed her, even if I just needed her to keep me company."--Danielle Robertson
"Both my husband and I agree that hiring Beth as our postpartum Doula was hands down the best thing we spent our money on! Worth every penny.
We were a bit scared to welcome someone into our house at such a vulnerable time – however our families are far away and we knew we would need help. Once we meet Beth our fears disappeared. I just clicked with her right away. She passes no judgment. She has great insight. She is calm yet confidant. She is well read. She listens more than she talks. We found Beth to be professional, pleasant, informed, resourceful, supportive, proactive (and I can go on and on). For the first three months of my sons life, we relied on her friendship tremendously.
She helped with laundry, she cooked my soup, she served me tea and made me feel special at a time when I really needed it.
I had a bit of trouble getting started breastfeeding and Beth totally supported me! Without Beth in the picture those early days I truly believe my husband and I would have given up!
I really cant recommend Beth enough. She is solid gold." --Catherine Blanksby
